1800 people were reached with COVID-19 prevention messages in a week-long outreach in Beitbridge
In response to the increasing COVID-19 cases, from 11 to 15 January 2021 IOM supported the Beitbridge district Risk Communications and Community Engagement team to raise awareness on COVID-19 infection prevention and control measures.
The outreach focused on reminding residents of Beitbridge about the importance of adhering to the current lockdown regulations and emphasizing the potential lifesaving impact of wearing masks, social distancing and effective handwashing. A total of 1800 people were reached in areas which included vending sites, shopping centres and bus terminus hubs.
